Home Decor

Nov 2021 I bought this beautiful house.
It was built in 1923, so it’s a century home this year.

I should never have started decorating because now I need seven more rooms to express my design ideas.

This is how the previous owner had the dining area.
I opened the space up by putting my table to the left.
Notice this fantastic art deco slipper shade chandelier. I’m assuming it was an original light from when the house was built.
This year, I painted the trim. Blue for the living room.
The bedrooms had comfy quilts, and I started with throw pillows and lamps. Then, my sister-in-law convinced me to tear out the rugs and finish the floors underneath. She ripped out the rugs…

She ripped them off the stairs too. Voila! Wood everywhere.

Maryann did the sanding on the stairs.
Then, she stained them with a walnut stain.
And I painted the trim. This coat was a little too bright.
So I darkened it up and added a little wallpaper. This was my first try at wallpapering.
My friend, Franklim, sanded the floors
Amazing what was hidden under those rugs, eh?
More trim painting.
